Lauded for “a voice of seductive beauty” (Miami Herald) and as an “unfailingly versatile” performer (Boston Globe), baritone David McFerrin has won critical acclaim in opera, concert, recital, small ensemble, and crossover repertoire. He is a mainstay of the Boston classical vocal scene and has performed on many other leading stages in the US and Europe.
Highlights of David’s 2024-25 season included the title role in Britten’s Noah’s Flood with Boston Lyric Opera and over 200 youth performers in Symphony Hall; Bach cantata programs with American Bach Soloists in the Bay Area, Emmanuel Music in Boston, and Music Worcester; and concerts in Boston and New York City with Gramophone award-winning ensemble Blue Heron. Other recent performances have included the complete trilogy of Britten’s church parable operas with Enigma Chamber Opera, as well as appearances at BachFest Leipzig in Germany and the Laus Polyphoniae renaissance vocal festival in Antwerp, Belgium.
